ADVISOR ALLOCATION SHIFT TRACKER
Alternatives Allocation Breaks Double Digits for First Time
US Equity 44% → 40%
Alternatives 8% → 12%
Fixed Income 31% → 29%
Real Assets 4% → 6%
Cash 5% → 5%
Liquid alternatives are going mainstream. Managed futures, market-neutral, and multi-strategy ETFs are the primary beneficiaries. Issuers in this space should be arming wholesalers with portfolio fit illustrations.
Wholesaler script
“Open the alts conversation by acknowledging double-digit is the new baseline.”

NEW ETF LAUNCH RADAR
Crypto ETF Filings Expand Beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum
Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) began trading October 28, 2025 on NYSE — first U.S. spot Solana ETF to trade
VanEck filed the first U.S. spot Solana ETF S-1 in June 2024; VanEck also launched a multi-token crypto ETN in Europe covering BTC, ETH, SOL, and others (note: U.S. multi-token basket not yet confirmed)
Grayscale's GSOL also launched around the same time as BSOL
The crypto ETF wave is broadening. After Bitcoin and Ethereum spot approvals, issuers are racing to file for altcoin products. Advisor demand is concentrated in BTC/ETH but multi-token baskets could unlock new allocation budgets.
Wholesaler script
“Crypto-curious advisors need our framework before next multi-asset filing lands.”

How the Top 5 ETF Launches of 2026 Got to $500M
Every successful launch in the past 12 months followed the same playbook: (1) Pre-launch seeding from a strategic partner, (2) Day-one liquidity commitment from 3+ market makers, (3) A media blitz timed to a specific market narrative, and (4) A platform approval pipeline that was 80% complete before launch day. The funds that struggled? They launched first and figured out distribution second.

International Allocation Hits 3-Year High Among RIAs
Average international allocation: 22% (up from 16% in Q4 2025)
RIAs are diversifying away from US-heavy portfolios for the first time in years. Emerging market and developed ex-US funds are seeing the strongest advisor interest since 2022.

DISTRIBUTION TIP OF THE DAY
Launch Strategy
80% of Platform Approvals Should Be Done Before Launch Day
Every successful ETF launch in the past 12 months followed the same playbook: pre-launch seeding, day-one liquidity from 3+ market makers, a media blitz timed to a market narrative, and an 80%-complete platform pipeline before launch. Distribution-first always beats product-first.

Fidelity Expands Active ETFs in Zero-Commission Lineup
Fidelity expanded its commission-free ETF lineup to include active products from DFA, Capital Group, and Avantis. Active ETFs represent a growing share of Fidelity's commission-free roster.
IMPLICATION FOR ISSUERS
Fidelity's platform gatekeepers are clearly favoring active strategies. Issuers with active products should prioritize Fidelity platform conversations in Q2.

Wholesaler script
“Lead Fidelity-platform advisors with our active ETF zero-commission status.”

WHOLESALER BENCHMARK
62%
of AUM sourced
Top RIA firms report that 62% of new ETF allocations come from model portfolio inclusion, not individual advisor decisions
BENCHMARK CONTEXT
If your distribution strategy is 100% focused on individual advisors, you're missing the majority of the addressable market. One model portfolio analyst at a large RIA aggregator controls more flows than 50 individual advisors.

WHAT ADVISORS TOLD US THIS WEEK
“I'm drowning in ETF options. What I need isn't another product — it's someone who can show me exactly where this fund replaces something I already own.”
— RIA with $380M AUM, Southeast
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ISSUERS
Portfolio substitution messaging beats additive messaging. Your wholesaler pitch should start with: 'What are you currently using for [category]?' — not 'Let me tell you about our fund.'
